Reading: Psalm 41: 9 | Psalm 55: 12-15 MSG

Some deliverance happens when;

  • We avoid some places
  • By not letting people into the our holy of holies
  • Not opening your mouth to tell people about everything about us; and,
  • Not eating everything at every given opportunity. The battles many Christians are fighting would be limited if they limited the amount of human traffic into their lives.

Who is an unfriendly friend?

  • Is a person that digs a pit for you to fall inside and covers it for you not to see it.
  • A person that spreads gossips, lies and accusation against when they know its all lies.
  • Encourages others to dislike you.
  • Pretends to like you but does otherwise behind you.
  • Plots against you at night and laughs with you in the morning.
  • Will appear when they need you and disappear when you need them.
  • Gets upset when you succeed
  • Rejoices when something bad happens to you
  • They are pathological ingrates; never grateful
  • They fight you with the privileges they have received from you.
  • They see you as a competitor not a complementers
  • They open up spiritual portals for monitoring you
  • Indirectly exchange what is meant for you

How do we navigate through life without falling victim to unfriendly friends?

  • In your relationship pay attention to 'red flags'.
  • Pray for the spirit of discernment. Be sincere with yourself and God.
  • Limit the sharing of your personal secrets. The more you share the more you endanger yourself.
  • Observe closely the reaction of your 'friend' to your success.
  • Avoid people who gossip about others to you because they will do the same to you.
  • Do not force relationships. Let relations be natural. * If it is not natural it is ungodly and it will not end well.
  • Let there be boundaries in every relationship.
  • Evaluate their loyalties during tough times.
  • Let go of people who laugh at your pain.
  • Let go of any friendship that drains you.
  • Pray to God to reveal that person to you.
