The Story of Elijah and Elisha - 2 Kings 2:1-12
There are many characters we find in Elisha:
- He was a humble man – he abandoned his livelihoods for the sake of ministry
- He was hardworking
- He refused to give up – any journey you’re embarking on that is obstacle free will not takes you anywhere - Without struggles, there can never be progress – Proverbs 24:10. God allows people to go through adversity so that he can test their character
The Character of ELISHA indicates that the reason why your battles are getting worse is because your destiny is a best one. Your life is attracting many attacks because your star is a shining start. THEREFORE, don’t quit and don’t give up. If Elijah had given up, double portion would have become elusion - Keep the faith, DON'T QUIT
TO QUIT MEANS:
- To fold your hands when work is not finished
- To stop boxing when the opponent is still hitting hard
- To depart from the field of play when the match is still ongoing - your life is a game that is ongoing
- To surrender to the enemy of the life
- To write a letter to the school of failure
- To discourage your angel of your blessing
- To handle over the steering wheel of your life to the enemy
- To organise a praise and worship session for the devil
- To surrender to discouragements, depressions and defeat in the battles of life
NOTE: The journey of life is a marathon, when you quit, it will be required to restart from square-zero
INDIVIDUALS WHO DIDN'T QUIT
- Jesus - was born in a manger but He ended as the King of Kings
- All scriptures were written in the prison
- Winston Churchill - One of the Ex-PMs of UK had a rough academic childhood
- Abraham Lincoln EX president of USA brought America out of the absurd situation, yet he struggled with life
- Isaac Newton failed Math in his primary school yet He discovered the basic principles of modern physics,
- Louis Pasteur - He was partially paralyzed, yet discovered medicine that is still used up to date
The above examples indicate that: The best things of life are born out of adversity - most successes were born out of failure. Therefore ''When things go wrong in the journey of life such as financial struggles, don’t give up,' your current state doesn't have a say about your tomorrow's journey
WHAT TO DO TO AVOID QUITING
- ALWAYS be encouraged in the Lord - Preach to yourself, even when there is no preacher to preach to you
- Make your life unpredictable to the enemy - when the enemy expects you to be at your weak-end, that is when you should be 'firing'
- Purpose in your life to deny the enemy any chance to celebrate your failure. When your breakthrough is closer than you can imagine,, is when you're under pressure to make wrong decision - therefore, don't rush to make decision
