At the Living Word Assembly Church, every second Sunday of the month is our Impartation Sunday.

Reading from Mark 4: 35 – 41 and Revelation 5: 9 – 10, Pastor Benjamin Nebechukwu gives the ultimate key points in understanding the power of dominion in a sermon he titled WALKING IN DOMINION’

Before diving into the power of Walking in Dominion, let’ us first understand impartation.

Impartation is a powerful and fundamental practice in the Christian faith that has been experienced by believers throughout the ages.

This spiritual exchange involves the transfer of spiritual gifts, anointing, and blessings from one believer of higher authority to another through the laying on of hands and prayer.

In the book of Romans 1:11-12, Paul expresses his desire to visit the believers in Rome: “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established—that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.”

Therefore, it is just to say, God is omnipotent, but he uses men to bless men. Therefore, the practice of impartation allows spiritual fathers to pass or to bless believers with the spiritual or heavenly blessings.

Redemption: The gateway to dominion

Pastor Benjamin emphasizes the foundational principle that redemption is the currency for our dominion on earth. Christians are not designed for servitude and slavery; rather, are destined for dignity. In the tapestry of life, reigning is a vivid depiction of dominion. As Ephesians 1:18-23 (CEV) articulates, life is about dominion – a continuous choice between taking charge or being discharged from our ordained position.

Redemption is the price for our dominion on earth, we are not meant for servitude and slavery but we are meant for dignity. Reigning is dominion or it’s a picture of dominion.  You may not look like it but you are it. Life is about dominion; you either take charge or you are discharged from your position,’ Pastor Benjamin re-echoed.

It is also key to note that life is about dominion to take charge or to be discharged from different positions of influence according to Ephesians 1: 18 – 23 and 1 John 4: 17b.

‘Everything about dominion emanates from the heart.  Life is about dominion; you are either in charge or you get discharged. Jesus was dominion personified when he walked on earth,’ Pastor Benjamin says.

What is dominion? Spiritual perspective??

  1. Dominion is existence in the realm of triumph and victory ~ 2 Corinthians 2: 14 NKJV; Colossians 2: 15 KJV. We pray to maintain our territory ~ James 4:7.
  2. Dominion is existence in the realm of supremacy ~ Psalm 8: 4 - 6.
  3. Dominion is to exercise authority and impose your place over opposition ~ Psalm 66: 3, 7 NKJV/ TPT; Psalm 18: 44 - 45 NKJV. The kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world is to be ruled and dominated by the people of this world.
  4. To be in control of the affairs of the sphere of life you walk into ~ John 6: 5 - 6. In every situation in our lives God is up to something.
  5. It means to be in command in your field of endeavor such as your workplace or the industry where you are ~ Daniel 1: 20; Daniel 6: 1 - 3; Psalm 82: 5 - 7; Exodus 7:1.
  6. Having it the way you want it always ~ Matthew 8: 8 - 10.

What is the secret of functioning in dominion?

  • Exercising authority through dwelling in the secret place ~ Psalm 91: 1 - 9. It is a call for God's people to rule and dominate both the kingdom of God and the earthly realm.

God is found in the secret place; if dominion is your desire, then look for the secret place according to Job 25: 2 KJV. People who are allergic to God's presence cannot operate in dominion ~ Zechariah 4: 6; Psalm 89: 20 - 24 KJV.

  • The knowledge of your identity: Understanding your identity is crucial, as it boosts confidence and serves as the platform for dominion (Psalm 82:5-7). Failing to comprehend your rank results in the stripping away of your identity.

It is a confidence booster and confidence is a platform for dominion. Identity has nothing to do with your status whether you are single or married, rich or poor, that does not does not matter, it is nothing about our parent status, it is a spiritual inheritance. You must understand your identity for dominion. If you fail to understand your rank, you will be stripped of your identity.

  • You need to be born again: Salvation is the pathway to dominion. Salvation brings you to the same class like Jesus ~ Romans 8: 17. Until you are born again you have no power of attorney to run or dominate things on earth according to John 1: 12.
  • By the word of God: The word of God is your scepter of authority and our power as kings ~ Ecclesiastes 8: 4. The word of God is unquestionable and unchallengeable, with the rod of the word of God, you can do mind-blowing things ~ Psalm 110: 2.
  • Prayer: Those who want to take charge must always travail in prayer. It takes prayer to log into power. You cannot confront the enemy on an empty mouth.   Each territory is under the control of demons, every pace has a prince in charge ~ Psalm 66:8.

Using your tongue and your mouth profitably

  • Your mouth or your tongue makes the difference between your domination or being dominated.
  • Your confession is the prescription for your destination.
  • The power to live or die is rooted in your tongue ~ Proverbs 18: 21.
  • Your liberty or captivity in life is at the mercy of your tongue
  • Nothing is against you if your own mouth is not against you.
  • If the devil cannot stop you from saying it, he cannot stop you from seeing it.

‘Your liberty or captivity in life is at the mercy of your tongue, nothing is against you if your own mouth is not against you. If the devil cannot stop you from saying it, he cannot stop you from seeing it. What comes out of your mouth is what will put what your hands are looking for

Don’t let your situation, determine your confession. We are not permitted to say the way we feel it, we are permitted to say the way we want to see it. God expects us to confess their things contrary to our situations. We are meant to dominate thru our utterances. Use your tongue wisely because your tongue is meant to profit your destiny.

Pastor Benjamin implored the Christians to align their confessions with the dominion that they seek.
