Many people most often mistake the blessing of God to be material wealth, whereas it is part of them, the blessing of God is much bigger that the material wealth. So, what is the blessing of God?
The blessing of God is the principle tool for dominion in life, therefore to be blessed is to be ushered into the realm of dominion. This means that the dominion in a man’s life is directly proportional to the blessing of God in his/ her life.
This is confirmed in scriptures including Genesis 1: 28, Genesis 2: 7, Genesis 2: 15, Genesis 2:19 -20. In all these scriptures, God gave man power to dominate and that is what the blessing of God does in the life of a believer.
As clearly put by Pastor Benjamin, ‘to begin with a blessing is to end in dominion - the seed of the blessing will always generate a bumper harvest of dominion,’’
Abraham in Genesis 12: 1 – 3 is another personality in the bible who received the blessing of God.
The making of Abraham was the blessing – without the blessing Abraham would have been a non-entity.. Gen 25:5-6 equally showcase how the blessing positioned Isaac to be in charge. Therefore, Don’t struggle to be in charge just struggle to be blessed for when you are blessed you will be properly be positioned.
Proverbs 10:22 reminds us that behind every glory, there is a story. The account of Isaac in Genesis 26:16 further underlined that the blessing made him powerful, even to the point of being ordered to leave. The blessing has the power to generate prosperity.

- The blessing is an empowerment for productivity. Pastor Ben added that ‘When you are blessed your life becomes resourceful – to be productive is to be fruitful ~ Deuteronomy 8: 18.
- The blessing is an empowerment for increase ~ Genesis 39: 5 - 6 CEV. When the carrier of blessing entered Potiphar's territory he was blessed such as Jabez ~ 1 Chronicles 4: 9 - 10
- The blessing is an empowerment for limitlessness. It means a blessing without embargo. The blessing make one a limitless entity; even Abraham who came from a family with limitation could not be stopped when he was blessed by God. It is a curse that puts embargos on people ~ Genesis 1: 28.
- The blessing is an empowerment for dominion and authority. The blessing puts you in charge. It makes you to take control. The blessing will naturally put you in a position influence and authority. It makes your voice to carry weight.
What are the channels of the blessing that will put you in dominion?
- Connection with the Almighty in Psalm 5: 12. The righteous is a candidate for the blessing as well as Psalm 1: 1 - 3. If you want the blessing look for God and avoid crookedness. Anything you get through crookedness will curse your life. There is more to life than material things or money. Pastor Benjamin re-echoed.
What are the conditions for connecting with God for the blessing to take effect?
- Kingdom service ~ Exodus 23: 25. Service to God is not limited to serving in the church.
- The covenant practice of giving and tithing. If you are looking for a blessing from God then you must be a giver ~ Acts 20: 35. There is a blessing in giving according to Malachi 3: 10. 10 ‘I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I challenge you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse, so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven and flood you with blessing after blessing,’’ Pastor Ben stressed.
- The channel of the priest ~ Numbers 6:22 – 27. God is omnipotent but God uses men to help fellow men ~ 2 Chronicles 20: 20 NKJV; 2 Samuel 6: 18 CEV.
