Key points to note about the strongman
- There is a personality in the realm of the spirit known as the strongman. If not so Jesus would have never talked about him.
- This strongman has a house; and it is a human being.
- The strongman has his goods
- Those goods do not belong to the strongman
- Before you force out the strongman, Jesus gives us the strategy of first binding him ~Matthew 12: 29
- The strongman is the supervising power over stubborn situations therefore the strongman is a reality.

Who is a strongman?
- A strongman is the controller of a group of spirits (demons) or a chief over spirits.
- A strongman could be likened to a prison warden of demons.
- A strongman is like a wicked ruler over a family, over a community, village, town, city or nation ~ Daniel 10: 13 (The Prince of Persia). The devil is not omnipotent, so he apportions strongmen over families, cities, nations etc.
Signs of a strongman in a life
- Constant demonic dreams e.g. spirit spouses; constant feeding in dreams
- Chronic failure at the edge of breakthrough
- Marital disappointment
- Profitless hard work; you toil but catch nothing
- Limitation and stagnation
- Spirit of death
- Addiction to tobacco, masturbation, alcoholism and others
- Household wickedness
- Having unfriendly friends
- Ancestral bondage
Behind every stronghold, there is a strongman; the operation of a strongman in any area of a strongman is the area were the strongman holds tightly e.g. marriage (marital destinies), career, finances, health, academics, unemployment, e.t.c. The strongman allows you to excel in one area of your life and hold the other ~ 2 Corinthians 10: 3.
How do we bind and unseat the strongman?
- You must be a strategic warrior. Battles are not won in the field, they are won in the strategy room. To win a battle against a strongman, you must be tactical and strategic. E.g. Joshua got different strategies from God for different battles. Have a winner’s mindset. Before you start the battle have a winner’s mind ~ Romans 8:37.
Difference between a winner and loser
- A winner is a learner while the loser thinks that he knows it all.
- A winner will look for a better way of doing things, while a loser remains conservative.
- A winner apologizes and never repeats mistakes but a loser makes the same mistake over and over again.
- A winner fights a right fight while a loser fights wrongly.
- A winner is always positive while a loser is always negative (i.e optimistic and pessimistic respectively)
- A winner is a good listener while a loser is always talkative. We learn more when we listen more.
- A winner is not given to worries but a loser worries a lot.
- A winner never gives up but losers give up easily
- Identify the seat of the strongman in your life. Do a periodic check of your life.
- Gather scriptures to use in dealing with the strongman; ‘spiritual ammunition’. Isaiah 49: 25 – 26; Colossians 2: 15; Philippians 2: 9 – 11; Psalm 2: 1 -7; Psalm 97: 3; NKJV
- Declare war on the strongman. And in this warfare if you have nuclear weapon it is permitted, use whatever you can use to decapitate him use it.

- Holy Ghost fire enter into the life of ……………………… and dislodge the strongman in his life in the name of Jesus.
- Stones of fire pursue and crash the strongman in my life in Jesus’ name.
- You that strongman sitting on my destiny, your end has come, be unseated by fire in the name of Jesus.
- I smash the head of the strongman on the wall of fire.
- Any strongman sitting on my family, your end has come, somersault and die in the name of Jesus.
