- The plague of forgetfulness. Men are prone to be forgetful. People forget what God has done ~ Hebrews 6: 10 KJV/ CEV. It is unfair on your part not to acknowledge what God has done.
- Waiting for something bigger to happen before appreciating God. Some people are classifies the wonders of God in sizes e.g ordinary headache, stomach discomfort. We are in a generation with high sounding names of infirmities e.g cancer and God has no classes of infirmities. To God, all infirmities are the same.
- Appreciation is a spiritual equation ~ Acts 27.
- Do not classify things; at the end of it all give glory to God.
- Entitlement mentality. When somebody believes that whatever you are doing for them they are entitled to it ~ Acts 17: 28 KJV.
- Comparison with others. Those who compare themselves with others will never see any good thing that God is doing ~ 2 Corinthians 10: 12 KJV. Everybody's destiny has a unique pathway in life.
What are the reasons for appreciation?
- God inspects the heart before he can impact your hands ~ Jeremiah 17: 8 - 10 NKJV/ MSG/ NLT. We live in a world plagued with hypocrisy. Avoid a lifestyle of hypocrisy and pretentious living ~ 1 Samuel 16: 7 NLT. God is not moved by drama but by simplicity and sincerity of the heart.
- Appreciation is application for more ~ Jeremiah 30: 19 NLT.
- Appreciations brings appreciation in value. Those who appreciate God cannot depreciate in value. If you do not want to depreciate, give appreciation to God. Ingratitude is the major sponsor of inglorious living. Appreciation brings about beautification.
